About Red Stencil
Red Stencil is multi-instrumentalist songwriter Kar Stanton. Kar grew up in Scotland and now lives on the South Coast of England. She is part of The Burrow Bournemouth community.
Her debut single The Body Count was released in April 2015, and can be found on Bandcamp, iTunes, Spotify, Amazon and other online platforms.
Kar is currently working on two EPs for release in Summer 2016. The Protagonist EP is a synth and electric guitar driven alt-pop record. Released simultaneously, the What Remains EP is an acoustic record with stark production and unguarded lyrics. Kar's delicate Scottish vocals provide a unifying element of the twin records.

About In Sickness
The single In Sickness is from the forthcoming EP What Remains. Kar plays acoustic guitar, piano, cornet, and acoustic bass on the song. The song is an honest and sometimes unsettling account of recent personal circumstances, working through the damage that depression had on her relationship. It's sparse arrangement and delicate vocals are influenced by the early work of two of her favourite musicians Bright Eyes and Sufjan Stevens. The single is released on the same day as New Year, a song from the forthcoming Protagonist EP.
lyrics
Lyrics
I'm just waiting for the money to run out
I'm just waiting for the money to run out
I'm just waiting for a change to come around
For whatever's in your brain to work its way out
For richer for poorer
For better for worse
In sickness and in health
For richer for poorer
For better for worse
In sickness and in health
There's nowhere else that I would be
And I don't know how long it will be
Til I become so bitter
Like a stain that never lifts
Like a debt that can't be paid
And I'm just waiting for you to remember I'm here
To remember I matter
To remember you care
I'm just waiting, I'm just waiting
For the black dog to leave
Cos everything is different
Everything is different when he's away
I'm just waiting, I'm just praying
For the black dog to leave
Cos everything is different
Everything is different when he's away
For richer for poorer
For better for worse
In sickness and in health
I'm not gonna leave
For richer for poorer
For better for worse
In sickness and in health
You'd do the same for me
